Netsuki Taishono (対称の ネツキ, Taishono Netsuki) is Sayu's mother, a witch whose animal theme is the fox. Netsuki was the witch Toko and Life hunted so Toko could devour her soul and become a Death Scythe. After multiple battles that always ended in Netsuki slipping away with a teasing flirt in Life's direction, Netsuki and Life began to hold civilized conversations, eventually meeting on completely friendly terms and halting battle as a whole. The two eventually fell in love, resulting in the birth of their daughter, Sayu. Realizing their relationship would not be accepted, they chose to go into hiding. Not wanted to burden their child with constantly living in hiding, they instead left the girl with an older friend of Netsuki's, who would raise Sayu claiming to be her grandmother. Before leaving, Netsuki left Sayu her music box, hoping it would be a sign to her daughter that she truly cared for her. Name Meaning:Her last name 'Taishono' means 'symmetrical'. Her first name 'Netsuki' (ネツキ) can be translated as 'rooted', but it's true relevance is that it is written by reversing the syllables in 'kitsune' (キツネ), which literally translates to 'fox'.
