Satoru

Satoru (æ‚Ÿ), is the earth-bound goddess of life itself, the guardian of life in all its forms on Shangri-La. It is revealed that she created/birthed Goku to alleviate the loneliness she felt as being the only god not to reside in heaven, and not being able to consort with mortals. As he grew, she eventually noticed how he would longingly watch humans and youkai, even though he would always put on a happy face for her sake. She realized that it was cruel of her to keep him all to herself, and so let him leave her to live life as he chose, first erasing his memories of her so he would not feel guilty over leaving her alone. Because the other gods did not know the whole story behind Goku's birth, he was presumed a heretic when found away from his mother, and the rest is history. As an earth-bound god, Satoru had no knowledge of anything that happened to Goku during his time in heaven, but watches over her beloved son dutifully when he is in Shangri-La. When she realized he had been imprisoned, she begged the other gods to reconsider, revealing the truth of what he was, but his punishment was not lifted. Satoru was nearly stripped of her power as punishment for having created 'the heretic', but was spared because Kanzeon Bosatsu understood that Satoru created him out of loneliness, and did not intend for him to become what he did. She watches over Goku to this day, and is overjoyed that he has found friends, love, and is about to start his own family.
