Hiei is the Spirit form of Kurai's zanpaku-to. Having always been a part of Kurai, Hiei has a fondness of the Vizard similar to a big brother. He has an appearance similar to how humans envision demons and vampires, which he sometimes uses in both joking and flirting fashions. As his name implies, Hiei is a darkness-elemental zanpaku-to, and possesses demonic wings which appear and disappear as he wills. He is also extremely agile, even when his wings are not present. As the form of his Shikai would also imply, he is a master of Naginatajutsu. Name Meaning:Hiei is written with the kanji 飛影, which translates into English as "Flying Shadow".
